About
Boruta Consulting
As seasoned event planners, we will help you achieve your goals with streamlined event planning practices. Your primary focus is on the bigger picture, content, and mission. Let us handle the rest.
Our mission as your event planner
Boruta Consulting was founded to bring a sense of calm to an otherwise hectic, dramatic, and stressful event-planning environment. We believe that you don’t need any more stress in your life, let alone when planning your next big event or project.
We believe in these core principles and values:
- Respect & excellent customer service are the keys to success.
- Transparency about prices, intentions, team members, and work processes.
- Responsibility for one’s work.
- Attention to detail for a consistent concept.
- Focus, flexibility & adaptability throughout the event cycle.
We are passionate about working with people who are engaged, present, and curious about what’s next. Our end goal is to plan meaningful events where people come together for a common cause—whether that’s a new tech innovation or a philanthropic mission. We’ll turn your vision into a reality, inspiring discussion and opening up fruitful networking opportunities. We’ll partner with sponsors & exhibitors to attract precisely the type of attendees you want in the room. Then, we’ll engage them beyond the event for an excellent ROI that meets—or exceeds—your fundraising goals.
How it all started
Michaela Boruta was born in Slovakia and moved to New York City in 2008. She began working in the events industry in 2009 as an event manager at a NYC venue and started her boutique event planning company in 2016. Since 2020, Michaela has also been an adjunct assistant professor at the Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality at NYU School of Professional Studies, teaching Facilities and Venue Management in the Event Management MS program.
As President of Boruta Consulting, LLC, Michaela oversees business logistics. She specializes in event management, planning, production, execution, and negotiation for high-profile functions, including conferences, galas, expos, and art fairs. As Co-Founder of The Asia Art Fair, NY, Michaela managed operations and communications for a five-day, three-floor art event featuring numerous programs and activities. She curated and exhibited artwork from 25-30 prestigious galleries. During her tenure as Director of Events at the Bohemian National Hall, she generated unprecedented business results, enabling her clients to gain a competitive advantage. She was instrumental in delivering successful events for for–profit and non-profit companies and organizations.
When you work together, you will always have a clear understanding of the event status at any given point. Michaela is very hands-on and loves working side by side with her clients throughout the event planning process. Adaptability and flexibility to the ever-changing nature of events are her purview. By using proven & tested methods to streamline the event-planning process, they anticipate known challenges and prepare for the unexpected. Unplanned things always happen, but the team at Boruta Consulting has the resources and strategies needed to avoid escalation, regain control, and continue as though there were no disruptions in the first place.
Who We Serve
If you…
- Are a small or medium-sized business or an organization that hosts events regularly, but don’t have event experts on your team or you cannot justify having a full-time event planner due to the low number of events you host on an annual basis.
- Have an event planner on your team, but the volume and size of your events is too much for one person to handle alone.
- Dread organizing events because you are unsure whether you have what it takes to pull them off.
- Have limited time, experience, or skills to organize an event efficiently.
- Work with a team that has limited bandwidth to focus on creating expert content, nevermind split their regular responsibilities with event planning.
- Hope to sell out events that go as smoothly as possible without any significant challenges or disruptions.
- Want your attendees to be happy, engaged, and inspired to return next year.
…we want to work with you!
